CLINICAL CONSULTATION (Professional)
We approach clinical consultation from a holistic and ecological lens. This means that we consider behavior relative to the biological and social environment in which it occurs. We view it to be our role to assist service providers in coming to terms and understanding the behavior of others as a creative and meaningful attempt to respond to past and current social contexts. This includes understanding of the influence of culture, communities, family, and the individual's own biology with regards to outward behavior and emotional experience.
We see the individual as having a certain limited sway of influence on their social experience and life experiences, which we can help to support and develop when we we as service providers develop a firm understanding of their total experience. As providers, we are afforded a unique vantage point that will allow us to promote meaningful change and growth, when we can understand our own role along with the needs of the individual across contexts.
